Steps
- In your Shopify admin, open Apps, then MSS Order Tagger: Auto Tags; it opens on the Tag Rules page. Select Create rule.
- Select Start from scratch. Enter the Rule name first, because the app does not save a rule without one ("Rule name is required."). Then enter the rest of the settings above: Add condition for the condition, Add outcome for the action.
- Tag the products in the line first. Then, under Preview, choose Recent sample and Orders, select Run preview, and check that orders with a line:outdoor product show Would tag.
- Select Create rule. The rule is on as soon as it is saved.
- Optional, on the Growth and Pro plans. In the Tag Rules list, select the rule's name to open Edit tag rule. Then select "Apply to existing store history", then "Start backfill"; it reaches the last 60 days of orders.
Good to know
- The condition reads product tags on the order's items, so products need the line tag before the order comes in.
- Use a prefix such as line: so these tags are easy to find.
